About 24 hours after we get home from a Disney World vacation, we start talking about the desserts we are craving and how we wish we could have just one more of these delicious eats. Try one a day or all in one day they are worth the extra calories!
Mickey-Shaped Anything– Snacks just taste better when they are shaped like our favorite mouse. There are hot pretzels, ice-cream bars, Rice Krispy treats, cookies (with the ears dipped in chocolate), cupcakes, and delicious crisp caramel apples. The great thing about these snacks is they are located all over the parks. Just when you think you can’t take the heat, there is an ice cream cart or air-conditioned bakery a few steps away.
Cinnamon Roll at Gaston’s– If you are craving a sweet pastry then this one is the best. It is literally the size of your face and dripping with frosting. I always ask for two extra icings so I can create just the right amount of roll/frosting ratio with each bite. These are big enough to share but I am not sure you will want to once you try it. Gaston’s is in the new part of Fantasy Land at Magic Kingdom.
P.S. while you are there you may want to try LeFou’s brew- frozen apple juice with toasted marshmallow and topped with passion fruit-mango foam sold in regular cups or souvenir steins and goblets.
Carrot Cake Cookie– This delicious treat was sold at Sweet Spells Shop in Hollywood studios. It was two huge circles of carrot, raisin yumminess with cream cheese frosting sandwiched in between them. Just a few weeks ago, Sweet Spells closed and they moved this creation to the Trolley Car Treats, Starbucks location. It has been reinvented and looks different but we are hoping that is still tastes the same.
Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzel– Now here is the thing, this snack tends to come and go. It was available at the America Pavilion at EPCOT and the Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom. It is just as it sounds, a hot salted pretzel stuffed with sweet cream cheese. Just the right amount of salty/sweet to ease both cravings. Last time we were at Disney World (May 2018), the Jalapeno stuffed pretzel replaced the sweet cream pretzel. I have also heard there is a Salted Caramel stuffed pretzel out there now. I will do some research in October and let you all know.
Dole Whip– Not so long ago this ice cream refreshment was only available at two places at Disney World, Aloha Isle in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom and Captain Cooks at the Polynesian Resort. Now you can get your hands or lips on a Dole whip at Tamu Tamu in Animal Kingdom, Marketplace Snacks at Disney Springs, The Drop Off at Art of Animation Resort, Aloha Isle and Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at the Polynesian Resort, Pineapple Lanai at the Polynesian Resort. I have also seen this treat during the EPCOT’s festivals available at the Kitchen Pineapple Promenade. A new twist with this dessert is the float that is spiked with rum, regular or coconut for an adult libation worth the walk to find.
Meet you on Main!
Probably with a dole whip in my hand!
