The Magical Magic Kingdom Series:
You just made your way down Main Street enjoying all there is to see and do and you are standing in front of Cinderella’s castle towering 189 feet in the sky. What do you do next? I mean after you take a million pictures and stare at that magnificent structure. Go right and you are in Tomorrowland, go left and you enter Adventureland. Since Greg and I are both left-handed we usually start on that side of the park. Adventure is right around the corner so go explore!
Jungle Navigation Co. LTD. Skipper Canteen is a table service restaurant featuring cuisine from Asia, South America and Africa. Its flavors are bold and dishes unique. The restaurant staff is “punny” and sarcastic just like on the Jungle Cruise attraction. Both these things together make for a fun and entertaining dining experience.
Tortuga Tavern is a quick service restaurant directly across from Pirates of the Caribbean featuring short ribs, hot dogs and turkey legs. It is opened only seasonally which means when the parks are the busiest. It has a large shaded seating area which is great when the sun is beating down.
Swiss Family Tree-House is an attraction at the center of this land. As you climb the stairs to the top of the tree, you see the way the Robinson family lived after being shipwrecked on a deserted island. The views from the top are amazing and make the 6 story climb worthwhile. Theming is great and based on the classic Disney film.
Magic Carpets of Aladdin is a dumbo-styled, high-flying ride over Adventureland. The front seat rider controls how high or low the carpets fly, the backseat rider tilts the carpet forward and back. There is a pair of camels at the entrance, one squirts people as they walk by and the other squirts guests as they ride.
Jungle Cruise is a slow-moving boat ride that takes you down the rivers of Asia, South America and Africa. The guides are what make the ride so much fun, they narrate the tour with corny jokes and sometimes ad-libs if you are lucky.
Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room is a rollicking show where birds and flowers and Tiki Gods come to life to sing and entertain the crowd sitting down below. The cast consists of over 150 “entertainers”
Pirates of the Caribbean is another boat voyage to a time when pirates ruled the seas. The popular Pirates of the Caribbean movies are based upon this ride which has been updated a few times. Updates include adding Johnny Depp’s character Jack Sparrow to the ride and just recently to auction off chickens and goods rather than women.
A Pirate’s Adventure-Treasures of the Seven Seas is a self-guided quest through Adventureland where you can take on missions, fend off foes and bring home a treasure. It is an interactive adventure that has you collecting treasure finder cards and when you get all 5 there is even a final completer card signed by Jack Sparrow!
