As you pass under the wooden posts marking the entrance to Frontierland, you realize you’ve arrived in an earlier time in American History. It’s a time when people were exploring the wilderness and settling small towns across the country. This area is home to two of Magic Kingdom’s three mountains and is one of the three Walt Disney Railroad stops.

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café is a quick service location has both indoor and outdoor seating options. The menu includes tacos, nachos, fajitas and burgers. All entrees include the fixings bar which boasts guacamole, shredded cheese, green and red salsas, roasted chilis, queso, and sour cream.

Golden Oak Outpost is a walk up stand that serves chicken nuggets, jalapeno poppers, spicy battered cauliflower and waffle fries.

Westward Ho is another walk up food stand that serves a breakfast sandwich and corn dogs. Also on the menu is Happy Trails Mix ( a blend of house-made marshmallows, pretzels, chocolate gems and mixed nuts).

Splash Mountain is a wild, thrilling log flume ride based on the movie “Song of the South.” It’s a long ride with a few drops and lots of twists and turns. It stars Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox and Brer Bear and recounts the story of the Briar Patch. You just may be singing Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah all day long. Be ready to literally splash down a fifty-foot drop and get wet!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a roller coaster ride through a gold mining town. The theming is spectacular while you race through desert canyons and a deserted gold mine on a runaway train. This is a family fun attraction that is sure to entertain. If you time it right, you may even be able to be on the ride while the fireworks light up the sky.

Tom Sawyer Island is a Mark Twain themed Island on the Rivers of America. The attraction is a self-guided exploration of structures including an old fort, suspension bridges and caves. You get to the Island on a log raft (a ride itself).

Country Bear Jamboree is a country hoe-down featuring some of the best singers and bands around. It is an animatronic sensation that will get you clapping your hands and stomping your feet!

Frontier Trading Post is a must stop for pin traders and souvenirs with a western flair. It’s the biggest pin store in the Magic Kingdom.

Frontierland is a great place for thrills and to chill out with air-conditioned restaurants and wet and wild rides. Hope you have a rootin’ tootin’ time and leave with new appreciation of Davey Crocket and maybe a coon-skin hat.

Meet you on Main!
